The Niepoort family has been producing Port wines since 1842, considered among the best in the country. The first property in the Douro was acquired in 1987, and Dirk Niepoort ushered in a new era for the company with the creation of the first Redoma Red in 1991. In recent years, Niepoort has taken on the significant challenge of exploring different soils and climates, acquiring two estates in other regions: Dão and Bairrada.
