CARM is a family-owned company, with its founding family having been documented since the mid-17th century. Agricultural activity has always been centered in the region where the Douro River begins its journey exclusively through Portuguese territory, also the site of the oldest demarcated region in the world—the Douro and Port Wine Demarcated Region.
Our goal has always been to produce high-quality olive oils and wines exclusively from olives and grapes grown on our farms: approximately 60 hectares of almond groves, 220 hectares of olive groves, and 200 hectares of vineyards located around the village of Almendra, in the most prestigious area of the Upper Douro, encompassed by the Côa Valley Archaeological Reserve.
