Ataíde Semedo led the Dôna estate, which made its mark on Bairrada's history with classy reds like the 1992, showcasing the potential of the Baga grape variety alongside producers like Luís Pato, Mário Sérgio Nuno Alves, and Sidónio de Sousa.
In 2005, he sold the estate to Caves Alliança and launched a new project in São Mateus, in the Anadia area, planting 5 hectares of vineyards (3 hectares each of the red varieties Baga, Touriga Nacional, Syrah, and Pinot Noir, and 2 hectares each of the white varieties Bical, Cercial, Viognier, Chardonnay, and Pinot Blanc). The vineyards are planted in clay-limestone soil, facing south and southwest, in a cool Atlantic area that provides a beautiful freshness to produce a precise and fine sparkling wine, a fragrant and full-bodied white made with the Rhône Viognier grape variety, and a firm and aromatic red blend of Baga and Touriga Nacional.
