The company began in 1940 on Rua Godinho, No. 164, when Carlo Lazzara founded a fish salting warehouse-factory. The business was later passed to his son-in-law, António Silva Serrano, and his wife, Girolima Lazzara Serrano, and subsequently to their son, António Carlos Lazzara Silva Serrano, who partnered with Fausto Oliveira Cântara. In 1977, Fausto Cântara became the sole owner, continuing the fish salting tradition and expanding into anchovy processing. Today, the company is managed by his son, Paulo Dias, and operates as a canning factory on Rua D. Marcos de Cruz, No. 20, in Perafita.
